June 2021 Virtual Tutor Training Workshop

We're virtual for June, 2021! 

Volunteer English Program is proud to announce that our highly successful, VIRTUAL Tutor Training Workshop format continues. It is designed to fully prepare volunteer tutors to teach English to non-native speakers from Chester County in a remote capacity to start, with the intention of moving to in-person tutoring when it is safe. If you have been looking to become more involved in your community during 2021, consider being a one-to-one English language tutor with the Volunteer English Program.

VEP steadfastly remains a beacon for adult students who are seeking English for new language instruction and cultural guidance. The demand to learn English exists now more than ever, as parents also become teachers and jobs may be more fluid. Volunteer English Program continues to connect volunteers with awaiting immigrants and provide one-to-one tutoring and cultural enrichment that empowers each to be successful and fully thrive.

Prior teaching experience or fluency in a language other than English is not required. References and background checks will be conducted before being matched with a student

When: June 7th (Monday), June 10th (Thursday) & June 15th (Tuesday), 2021 

Time: 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. each evening

Where: Zoom Virtual Platform

Please dress comfortably. Feel free to enjoy your own snacks and/or beverages.

*Please note that while this is a virtual event, your hard-copy Tutor Training Guide will need to be picked up at the VEP office in West Chester the week before training starts. Pick-up dates will be provided after registration.
